The Grundbuch (land register) is the official register of properties and property rights in Switzerland. It is kept by the cantons — some centrally, some through regional or municipal land registries — under the Swiss Civil Code (Art. 942 ff.).
Art. 970 of the Civil Code defines what is public: property description, ownership, easements and notations can be requested by anyone for a specific parcel. Mortgage entries and purchase prices are protected by law.
Verify ownership, easements and encumbrances before you buy, sell or finance.

No. Under Art. 970(2) of the Swiss Civil Code, anyone may obtain the public data (owner, description, easements, notations) for a specific named parcel — no justification needed. Non-public data such as mortgage entries requires the owner's authorisation or a legitimate interest.
No. We are an independent private ordering service, not a land registry. The extract we deliver, however, is an official document issued by the competent cantonal land registry. You can also order directly from the registry at the official fee.
It shows the public data: property description, owners, form of ownership, acquisition date, easements, real burdens and public notations. It does not show legally protected data such as mortgages and purchase prices — these are released only with the owner's authorisation or a legitimate interest.
Documents are typically delivered within 1–4 business days depending on the canton. Please check your spam folder first; if they still haven't arrived, contact us at info@grundbuchauszug-online.ch and we'll resend them.
The total price depends on the document and the canton, and is displayed in full during the order process before you pay — including the registry's official fee, which we advance on your behalf.
